FAQ

What is the itinerary of the 3-day Turkmenistan tour and what key sites does it cover?
The tour is a circular route that begins and ends at Ashgabat International Airport. The itinerary includes a sightseeing tour of futuristic, white-marble Ashgabat, a domestic flight to Dashoguz, exploring UNESCO World Heritage medieval monuments in Konye-Urgench (the Kutlug Timur Minaret, Turabek Khanum Mausoleum), an overnight stay in a yurt near the flaming Darvaza gas crater in the Karakum Desert, as well as visits to the mud and water craters on the way back to Ashgabat.
How is the overnight stay near the Darvaza gas crater organized?
The overnight stay near the legendary Darvaza crater ("Gates of Hell") is organized in an authentic yurt camp right in the heart of the Karakum Desert. This provides a unique opportunity to witness the crater at the most spectacular times of day — at sunset and in total night darkness — as well as to immerse yourself in the romance of nomadic life.
How is transportation between remote locations along the route handled?
To maximize time efficiency and comfort for travelers, the itinerary includes a short domestic flight from Ashgabat to Dashoguz in the north of the country. All other trips—excursions around Kunya-Urgench, crossing the Karakum Desert to the Darvaza crater, and returning south to Ashgabat—are carried out in comfortable vehicles adapted for desert roads.
Is this tour suitable for travelers with limited time?
Yes, this is a rich and well-balanced 3-day express tour that allows you to cover the main highlights of Turkmenistan: the modern architecture of the capital, the ancient history of the Silk Road (Kunya-Urgench), and unique natural phenomena (the Darvaza craters). Transfers are coordinated with arrivals and departures at Ashgabat International Airport.
