Today’s exploration focuses on the grand monuments, museum collections, and landmark architectural sites tailored to your pace. Discover more of the capital's unique white-marble cityscape and signature cultural highlights.

Lunch: Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant during the tour.

Evening & Train Boarding: In the late afternoon, transfer to the Ashgabat Railway Station to board the overnight train to the coastal city of Turkmenbashi.

Dinner: Note: As the train departs early in the evening, there is no time for a sit-down restaurant dinner before boarding. Your guide will take you to a local market or café beforehand to help you purchase a high-quality packed dinner, fresh fruits, and snacks to comfortably enjoy on board in your compartment.

Overnight: Stay on the overnight train (comfortable 4-berth compartments).

08:05 AM: Arrival in Turkmenbashi: Arrive by overnight train and meet your private driver at the station.

Turkmenbashi City & Awaza Highlights: Enjoy a brief orientation tour of this historic port city. View the unique pre-revolutionary architecture built from Caspian limestone, stop by the beautiful 1895 Moorish-style railway station, and catch scenic coastal views of the Caspian Sea. Optional: An excursion to the nearby Awaza Sea Resort can be arranged upon request, depending entirely on whether the zone is open and accessible to visitors at the exact time of your visit.

Lunch: Enjoy a fresh seafood or traditional lunch at a local restaurant.

Drive to Yangykala Canyon: Depart Turkmenbashi and drive east toward the breathtaking Yangykala Canyon (~160 km, approx. 3 hours). Please note that the final sections leading to the canyon involve rough, unpaved desert tracks.

Yangykala Sunset Experience: Arrive at the canyon plateau. Explore the vast, fiery-colored limestone formations and watch a spectacular sunset over the dramatic landscapes.

Dinner: Depending on the season and weather, enjoy an authentic packed picnic dinner at the canyon landscape, or a warm dinner upon arrival at your destination.

Drive to Hotel: Drive south from the canyon plateau down toward your hotel in the Balkan region (approx. 2 to 2.5 hours to the nearest hub).

Overnight: Stay at a hotel in the Balkan Region (Balkanabat or surrounding transit hubs based on availability).

Expedition to Ancient Dehistan: After breakfast, board your vehicles and head south into the remote, silent desert plains toward the spectacular ruins of Dehistan (Mashat-Misrian). This is the most isolated, atmospheric, and mysterious Silk Road site in western Turkmenistan (~180 km, approx. 3.5 hours via desert tracks).

Archaeological Exploration & Sacred Mashat Necropolis: Walk among the monumental 25-meter medieval minarets, the grand carved portals of the Khorezmshah-era mosque, and the historic remains of the Rabat (craftsmen’s quarters and caravanserais). Afterward, drive 7 km north to explore the sacred Mashat Necropolis (Shir-Kabir), which houses the oldest standing 10th-century mosque in the country and serves as an active pilgrimage site.

Picnic Lunch on Site: Enjoy a hearty, freshly prepared picnic lunch by our team right amidst the ancient ruins, allowing you to absorb the majestic silence of the desert.

Drive to Gyzylarbat: Following the tour, travel along the scenic regional tracks to the transit town of Gyzylarbat. Check into your hotel and enjoy a warm, relaxed dinner.

Surreal Moon Mountains Photo Stop: After breakfast at the hotel, check out and begin your journey east. Make a morning stop at the otherworldly clay formations of the Moon Mountains (located in the scenic foothills of the Sumbar Valley). The undulating, multi-colored clay hills look like a painted desert landscape, perfect for spectacular photos.

Ascent to Nokhur Village & Traditional Lunch: Drive toward the majestic Kopetdag Mountains and climb up the winding mountain road to the isolated village of Nokhur (~115 km from Serdar). Upon arrival, enjoy a warm welcome and a highly authentic, home-cooked traditional lunch at a local family house or local teahouse (featuring fresh regional dishes and mountain herbal tea).

Nokhur Cultural Sightseeing: After lunch, explore this unique tribal enclave. Visit the sacred Kyz Bibi pilgrimage shrine and the fascinating village cemetery, where every headstone is uniquely adorned with the massive horns of mountain goats (an ancient pre-Islamic protective tradition). Witness local women practicing the ancestral art of Keteni silk-weaving.(Note: Access to the mountain village depends on favorable weather and road conditions; in case of winter snow or heavy rain, a comfortable alternative lunch will be arranged en route).

Kow Ata Underground Lake: Drive down the mountain paths to the famous Kow Ata Underground Lake (approx. 1 hour). Descend into the deep limestone cave for a unique, relaxing swim in the naturally warm, mineral-rich thermal sulfur waters (constant 35°C year-round).

Return to Ashgabat: Drive the final stretch back to the capital city (~100 km, approx. 1.5 hours).

Lunch: Arrive in the Mary region and enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant in Mary or Bayramaly.

Ancient Merv Guided Tour: Visit the spectacular archaeological park of Ancient Merv (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Explore the key historical highlights in a streamlined route:

• Mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar: A 12th-century Seljuk masterpiece featuring its legendary double-dome construction.

• Greater & Lesser Kyz Kala: The iconic "corrugated" mud-brick desert fortresses (7th–12th centuries).
