How is a Turkmenistan visa issued now?
Through the official eVISA portal of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan (evisa.migration.gov.tm). The application is filed by the inviting party — us. A separate letter of invitation (LOI) is no longer needed.
Standard processing takes 9 business days and express processing 5 business days. The count starts after you pay and we upload the payment receipt to the portal. Apply early so the visa is ready in time for your trip.
How much does the visa cost?
The exact amount becomes known only after we file your application: the portal issues an invoice immediately, and we email it to you. Visa fees are typically around $40 (standard) and $80 (express), depending on nationality. The total you pay on our website includes the portal invoice and a 10% payment-processing fee, and you see it before paying.
Do I have to fill in anything on the portal myself?
No. You only fill in the form on our website. We complete the application on the portal, and you pay the invoice on our site. You do not need to register on the portal or verify anything there.
After we file the application, we email you the portal invoice and a link to our payment page with your email and the amount already filled in. You pay by card through Stripe.
Why is the email address so important?
We send your invoice, payment link and the finished e-visa to this address. A typo would stop the process, which is why the form asks you to enter your email twice.
What are the requirements for the passport scan and photo?
The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry; upload a colour scan of the whole photo page with the MRZ lines at the bottom fully visible. The photo must meet the ICAO standard: no older than 6 months, plain light background, face strictly centred, no glasses or headwear. The form checks the quality of both files right away.
Do I need to print the e-visa?
Yes. We forward the visa to your email — print it out and show it together with your passport at border control when entering Turkmenistan.
Can I cancel the application?
Once the application has been paid and submitted, the money is not refunded — the State Migration Service does not return it. Please make sure of your dates before paying. In the form you can choose to submit right away or closer to your travel dates.
When should I buy flights?
If you book flights before the visa is approved, choose refundable or flexible tickets so you lose nothing if dates shift.
